I assume that you have already heard/read about how Congress claims Slumdog Millionaire as one of the government’s achievements. If not, read it here, here or here. What on earth are these guys thinking? Congress has provided “a conducive environment?” What the fish?
Do they realise that the movie is pointing at the gap between the rich and the poor in India, about the lakhs who live in slums, about mothers who are slaughtered to death in front their kids, about girls who are taken into prostitution at a very young age? Does anyone even have the guts to stand up and take responsibility for all this?
I am forced to believe that they do not realise that it is more of a film about India and not a film made by an Indian? And what does the government do? Read it here. I am pretty sure that Danny Boyle would be more happy to see ‘someone do something about it’ – and that someone can be you!
Keep smiling!
